I was born in 1971 and raised in the United States, and am currently a working artist living in Layton, Utah. I love both painting and printmaking, but lately have been focusing more on painting. I use acrylics and oils as well as many different mediums to complete my works. I have won several awards for my paintings and have the opportunity for my first Solo Exhibition for the Salt Lake City Gallery Stroll in 2015.
Inspiration for me comes in the form of physical experiences, such as my meditation practice, spending time in the outdoors, and watching the world go by. My works are usually abstractions of how I felt and what I experienced during these times.
My paintings are layer upon layer of tiny line work and color. They are very luminescent and need to be seen in-person to fully appreciate their depths.
I am seeking to have my viewers experience a moment of silence within their minds. A break if you will from the everyday rat race. I find these moments of silence in my meditation practice and recreate them on a two-dimensional surface.
